MINUTES OF PPC MEETING
FEBRUARY 10TH 2008
Present:- Fr John Blacker, Fr Tom Smith, John Andrews, Laura Carr, Jo Johnston, Sue Holbrook, Mary Makowski, Kris Michalik, Tony Thorn, Lindsay Read

Announcements
1. John Andrew has created a website for the PPC. Several have looked at it. The address is in the email. JA explained the format of website we can add comments to agendas and minutes when they are on there.
Blogs explained. Thanks to JA for doing this. Website is open to all, but internal stuff pertaining to PPC will be for Registered Users.
2. Lindsay Read attended the Diocesan Council meeting. The Diocesan Web Manager, Tom Bigwood, has offered to give a talk on communications. 29th Feb in the afternoon. This talk will be at Sacred Hearts. SH have created a Deanery and SH parish website, we should all look at this at some point.
Patsy Williams was appointed Chairperson of the DC . Patsy is actively trying to get Deanary’s to do more. If we want something on the Deanary agenda we have to get it in a month early. Diocesan Meeting is 17th May. Deanary is 8th April 7.30 pm.
Next Saturday is Seeking the Face of Christ at Christ College from 10.30 am to 1 pm. Coffee at 10 am. Diocese now want to know if priorities are right in the action plan or if they have missed anything. We need to look at it as a pastoral council and comment.
A lengthy discussion was had of the needs of the parish and to request for comments and suggestions from Parish in conjunction with Seeking the Face of Christ. Fr T felt there was a lack of realism between suggestions and what the clergy can do. Fr T and Fr J at full stretch, so unless things change in the parish it is difficult for suggestions etc to be carried through.
Action 1:- After the Seeking the Face of Christ meeting, a meeting will be held for those that can attend to see what is discussed and how we will formulate questions to put to the parish. Therefore, and additional meeting for those that can attend will be 2 pm after Seeking the Face of Christ on Saturday 16th Feb.
Reports
Reports a), b) and c) will be heard at the next meeting.
Needs/questions of our youth.
Laura Mass has discussed this with other young people of the parish. The one thing they all agree is they find it hard to engage with the Mass.
Fr T commented that if you have a mass for the youth people then where to do you stop with other groups.
Youth lead mass suggested and agreed.
Action 2: Laura Carr, John Andrew, Jo Johnston, Fr Tom to take forward the suggestion of a Youth Lead Mass.
Conversion through Catechesis.
As time was running short it was decided for Sue Holbrok to present a small presentation to the PPC regarding Bill Huebsch Conversion Through Catechesis. It will cover a great deal that has been discussed.
Action 3: Sue Holbrook to do a half hour presentation on Bill Huebsch Conversion Through Catechesis.
